Owner Steve Jackson told the Farmington Daily Times that the state had shown no evidence that food in general increased the spread of COVID-19.

Jackson first caused controversy by releasing a poster on March 2 to 4 from China on the coronavirus.

“FERME, you may be able to thank CHINA!!” The sign said.

The sign was shared on social media and then posted in the Navajo Post, where it gained popularity in the city.

Jackson was called a “fanatic” in Facebok’s posts that closed the sign. Several members of the Navajo Nation advised others not to go to the establishment.

The owner stated that the signal was misunderstood.

“I stuck this little sign that explained my brain to the Chinese communist government and how they treat its people,” Jackson said.

Jackson then published another sign, “FERME, you may be able to thank the CHINOIS GOVERNMENT (see)”

But that did a lot to lessen the reactions.

“These are micro-aggressions that take a stand in front of minorities, they’re not fair,” Peter Deswood, director of the Farmington Municipal School District, podcast presenter and small business owner, told the Daily Times. “I’ve seen this habit more or less in this area. And if an imperative variety of his clients are minorities, he can’t talk like that.”

However, Jackson kept what he had said the time.

“We have no explanation for why to apologize for anything,” he said. “If you’re a communist sympathizer, I can’t help you. But other Americans (who complained about the sign) once contacted me and asked me what I thought.”

The Associated Press contributed to the report.
