The accounts of some K-pop stars have been blocked in Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok, as shown by Reuters controls, days after south Korea’s media regulator fined the fast video app to gain the privacy of knowledge.
The reasons for the blockades were unknown, but the verdict also comes after U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the U.S. is “certainly” considering banning Chinese social media applications, adding TikTok.
On Wednesday, South Korea’s communications regulator fined TikTk Pte Ltd, the publisher of the app, 186 million won ($15four320) for collecting non-public data from adolescents under 1four without the consent of yf tutors to disclose or notify at the end of Public Data abroad.
TikTk expected to submit voluntary preventive measures within 30 days, and the regulator planned to continue discussions with TikTk on data security issues, a Korean Communications Commission official said.
K-Pop star accounts such as Rain, TWICE, Mamamoo and HyunA have been locked in Douyin’s sight from Friday.
Douyin and TikTk operated independently and the accounts were open in TikTk, said a spkeswoguy of TikTk.
Douyin’s representatives did not respond to a request for comment. Both TikTk and Douyin are owned by the Chinese apple ByteDance.
The Chinese owner of TikTk, a new virtual bureaucracy platform never seen before, has been subjected to scrutiny of disorders such as user knowledge management. India banned TikTk and other Chinese programs in June. Douyin can never be held in retail outdoor app stores in mainland China.
ByteDance has quietly taken a chain of breeding stations in recent months to move global decision-making and search for captains outside China, Reuters reported in May.
K-pop star control agencies have commented.
China amassed 196.6 million Douyin in the first quarter, or 9.7% of more than 2 billion TikTk in total, knowledge of the advertising site Sensor Tower.
