Many of us are fashionable, then we see an image of ourselves from years beyond and we are ashamed.

This week’s Memory Lane supplement at Tuesday’s Coventry Telegraph looks at our appearance, trends and culture of city youth over the decades.

In this year of Coventry as a city of culture, it is vital to note that we have been full of culture in Coventry of our medieval architecture, our musical heritage and our proud automotive heritage.

So it’s no surprise that the city has attracted some of the most important names in the entertainment industry over the years. As our gallery shows, Coventry has welcomed the Beatles, Cliff Richard, Tommy Cooper and The Walker Brothers of California.

We’ve also created a lot of culture, the 2 Tone movement.

The gallery below offers an excerpt from our cult past. You can get your full 16-page supplement at Tuesday’s Coventry Telegraph. The slide was produced in association with our local Memory Lane story.

The 16-page flyer will include around 60 images showing some of Coventry’s most important names, the models we’ve followed, and the trends we’ve defined.

To make sure you don’t miss any edits, you can subscribe to receive your Coventry Telegraph at your doorstep here.

If you miss any of the supplements, don’t worry, you can get them all here.

Our Memory Lane uses its zip code to show you a wide variety of photos over 120 years old, from anywhere between one and a hundred miles from your home.
