California just became the first U. S. state to be in the U. S. The U. S. government has launched a hydrogen hub after the Energy Decomponent officially granted federal investment to cover hydrogen projects in California as part of the Biden administration’s timeline to partially fund seven hydrogen hubs across the United States.

The Department of Energy (DOE) and the Alliance for Clean and Renewable Hydrogen Energy Systems (ARCHES), as Central California is officially known, announced the official signing of a 12-year agreement worth $1. 6 billion to build a clean, renewable hydrogen hub in California, totaling up to $1. 2 billion in federal funding. said California Gov. Gavin Newsom. The remaining $11. 4 billion is expected to come from public and personal matching funds.
ARCHES is the first of the country’s seven hydrogen centers to officially sign its agreement with the DOE.

While the California platform will commit to green hydrogen, some of the other U. S. hydrogen hubs will commit to green hydrogen. The U. S. decided through the management plan to use vegetable fuel to produce hydrogen. The Appalachian hubs, the Gulf Coast Hydrogen Center in Texas, and the Midwest center will produce hydrogen from vegetable fuels, as well as carbon capture and storage, among other sources.
These projects have drawn complaints from environmental organizations that have criticized the production of hydrogen from natural gas, saying it extends the life of the fossil fuel industry while also greenwashing its efforts. Emissions relief.
