In an open letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau published today in the Globe and Mail newspaper, a collection of 27 Canadian business leaders called for the domestic and foreign restrictions applicable with COVID-19 to be eased.
The signatories come with the CEOs of some of Canada’s largest companies, adding Air Canada and Royal Bank of Canada, the nation’s largest lender. The letter asks Trudeau and provincial leaders to “look for a guilty way to coexist with COVID-1 until the vaccine.”
“This includes prudent and thoughtful openness of aviation and lifting restrictions to resume security in all provinces of Canada, in addition to the linked countries,” the leaders wrote.
Since March 21, most international flights have been canceled and the U.S.-Canada border has been shut to all but commercial travel. Earlier this week, those restrictions were extended for the third time and are now set to expire on July 21.
Today’s letter is the time in a week-by-week effort through Canadian companies to convince Trudeau to ease the restrictions. Last week, a tourism organization called the Canada Travel and Tourism Roundtable announced a similar public petition.
The leaders called for a reduction in restrictions on domestic travel to Canada. “Canada’s travel, tourism and hospitality sector employs 1.8 million Americans and contributes $102 billion to our economy. He’s counting in the sea directly to survive. As Canadians, we wait all year to travel during the summer. We prefer summer.” letter said. “Like you, our own defense is essential. However, the maximum travel restrictions in the last position are too wide or unnecessary. The letter went directly to ask for a “more specific technique of foreign travel,” saying that mandatory 14-day quarantine and the cover-up of foreign travelers are no longer necessary.
“Not all countries and regions are in danger and we do not treat them as such,” the letter continues. “For foreign visitors, they reflect measured and safe approaches in other countries, such as Germany, France, Italy and Australia, among which they revel in starting to reopen borders to secure countries.”
The leaders did not call for the resumption of travel between Canada and the U.S. in either overture.
Canada has exceeded the 100,000 times shown as COVID-1nine and more than 8, two hundred deaths due to the birth of the pandemic. Most of the time it happened in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec, which have recently reduced new times.
By comparison, he has recorded more than two million times shown and his most virtuous friend 118,000 deaths. The variety of new times is expanding in 22 of the 50 states, according to the knowledge of Johns Hopkins University.
