Cancel culture: Big ones say Trump voters, meh say Biden supporters

As Twitter slapped Donald Trump Jr.’s account today, a new poll revealed that more than 7 in 10 President Trump supporters say “culture cancellation” is a major problem.

In the Lacheck Yahoo News/YouGov poll, 72% of Republicans and 78% of Trump supporters rated this as a major issue.

But Democrats don’t seem to be as worried about that even though big apple liberals have faced the similar kind of social media protests and successes that Republicans do.

The poll monitors that 47% of Democrats see it as a big problem. That’s only 41% for supporters of Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.

The survey described “the culture of cancellation” as a “type of boycott in which an individual (a celebrity) is named and avoided who said something that angered other Americans.” While poll studies found that liberals and celebrities are “cancelled,” Republicans would come with older figures and key Republican leaders like the Trumps. They also cited attacks on Trump’s properties.

Trump and his son have been hit by reprimands and social media controls in recent months, angering Republicans. Even today, Twitter has suspended elements of Trump Jr.’s account by sharing a video of doctors talking about hydroxychloroquine, a questionable antimalarial drug, considered a cure for coronavirus.

Overall, 56% said that “cancelling culture” was a problem, 50% admitted that the most-friend “canceled” someone, “meaning they withdrew their help for a celebrity or public figure who did something they thought was offensive.”
