April 2 (UPI) — In a phone call Tuesday, U. S. President Joe Biden discussed AI, the fight against drugs and Russia’s future generation with Chinese Premier Xi Jinping, the White House said.
Biden raised the factor of Chinese generational exchanges with U. S. opponents.
Last year, U. S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused China of supplying Russia with so-called “dual-use generation. “This generation has civilian uses, but it can also be seamlessly and temporarily transitioned to military use.
Biden and Xi also discussed the volatile situation on the Korean Peninsula, according to the White House. On Tuesday, North Korea tested an intermediate-range ballistic missile.
The leaders also discussed the industry and what the White House calls unfair practices.
“President Biden also expressed his considerations about the People’s Republic of China’s unfair industrial policies and non-trade economic practices, which are harming Americans and their families,” the White House said.
According to the White House, possible spaces for cooperation were also discussed, adding anti-narcotics and AI regulation.
