Schmidt sent the Yankees’ alterlocal practice site Tuesday, Randy Miller reports of The Newark Star-Ledger.
Schmidt won praise from pitching staff during camp, but probably wouldn’t start the season on the primary league roster. Manager Aaron Boone said “delivered one way or another,” describing Schmidt’s functionality during the camp. Given the team’s confidence in its potential, the 24-year-old can also make his main league deyet during the abbreviated 2020 season.
