Major League Baseball continues to fight coronavirus in its peak season, and it’s never just the Miami Marlins. The Philadelphia Phillies said Thursday that one of their coaches and an in-house club employee tested positive for the virus, forcing the postponement in their weekend series as opposed to the Toronto Blue Jays. Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park, site of the series, was temporarily shut down.
The Phillies and Marlins have been out of action since Sunday, when the Marlins opted to play their game in Philadelphia even though four of their players tested positive for COVID-19. Now, 17 Marlins players and two staff members have contracted the virus, and their season has been interrupted via Major League Baseball until no less than Monday. It is not understood that any Phillies player has tested positive.

Calabrese said Cain, 74, has been “pretty healthy” in recent years, but that his cancer status has led him to a high-risk organization for coronavirus. Cain recently joined Newsmax TV and performed at the launch of a weekly show.
Newsmax reported that Cain attended a great friend of President Donald Trump in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in June, less than two weeks before his diagnosis. Newsmax said it’s not transparent where Cain, president of Black Voices for Trump, infected.
President Donald Trump criticized the postal vote Thursday, suggesting in a tweet that Election Day should be postponed to the current November 3 date, the president does not have the legal authority to delay the election on his own.
Postal voting may well be too critical a component of the election procedure this year, as the pandemic discourages face-to-face surveys. But Trump tweeted that the effort “in one position turns out to be a catastrophic catastrophe” and said it will make it less difficult for governments and foreign entities to influence the vote.
The date of the presidential election is desperate through federal law, as Congress, not the president, has the strength to move it, according to Edward Foley, a law professor at Ohio State University and a professional in election law.
Delaying a presidential election would be unprecedented – the nation did not do so even during the Civil War, the flu pandemic of 1920 and World War II. But Trump’s tweet nevertheless drew criticism from Democrats and Republicans for once again sowing doubt about the accuracy of elections.
