Farmers, pesticide traders, pest companies, skilled applicators, golf course owners and operators are invited to participate in the 2020 pesticide collection program in Virginia.
The program collects unwanted, expired or banned insecticides and safely removes them. Since its inception, the Virginia Pesticide Collection Program has collected and destroyed more than five million pounds of expired and unwanted insecticides, good public protection, and the elimination of the environmental threat they may also have posed.
The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, through its Office of Pesticide Services (PAHO), provides this service to participants in designated communities.
The program is funded through registration fees for pest products collected through PAHO.
Here is an inventory of the 2020 collection sites and calendar. All fields are open from nine a.m. to one p.m.

By administering the pesticide collection program, VDACS divides Virginia into five regions. Every year, the dep. accumulates in another region. Once the five regions have been addressed, the program begins the cycle. Click here to see a map of long-term collection locations.
Participants must transfer their unwanted insecticides to central collection sites located in the service area. If component participants cannot safely contain unwanted insecticides for transgamation, VDACS may install assistance on a case-by-case basis. Only insecticides can be accepted. Insecticide-infected materials (e.g. Insecticide-infected Fertilizers) are never best friends accepted as a component of the collection program. In addition, the program does NOT accept engine oil, paint, fuel, fertilizers or other chemicals.
Participants must complete a form of pesticide collection registration in advance and return the completed form to [email protected] or mail it to the Office of Pesticide Services, VDACS, P.O. Box 1163, Richmond Virginia 23218. The form can be obtained at vdacs.virginia.passv / pesticide-collection.shtml or by contacting the program at 804.786.3798.
Participants direct their questions to their local Virginia Cooperative Extension (ext.vt.edu/office.html) or Jeffrey Rogers agent to the number or email listed above.
