Donald Trump’s Most Profitable Properties Could Be Foreclosed Through Letitia James

If Letitia James moves into Donald Trump’s homes to pay her civil penalty for fraud in New York, she could deprive him of a number of valuable assets.

The former president has until March 25 to propose the bail amount, or the New York attorney general could begin seizing some of his assets and homes after Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that Trump will have to pay about $355 million in fraud fines. It exceeds $464 million once interest is added.

The February ruling indicated that Trump and top executives at the Trump Organization had inflated the price of their assets to obtain more favorable terms from lenders and insurers.

The lawsuit, filed through James, first sought $250 million in damages, but later increased that figure to $370 million, plus interest.

This week, the former president’s legal team said paying the full fine for civil fraud would be “a practical impossibility,” suggesting James would possibly soon begin seizing Trump’s properties.

Newsweek previously reviewed a document from the attorney general’s office that lists homes owned by Trump that had “fraudulent” and “misleading” values and could end up being seized:

These come with golf resources that are very successful for Trump.

According to Sportico, which cited the U. S. Office of Government Ethics, the U. S. Department of Homeland Security (FDA) and the U. S. Department of Homeland Security (FDA)In the U. S. , its Turnberry golf course is the second-highest golf course, earning the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee $52 million between January 2022 and April 2023.

His campaign in Jupiter, Florida, is the fourth highest-grossing, earning the former president $39. 4 million in that span.

The fifth-highest-grossing field is in Washington, D. C. , earning him $38. 1 million between January 2022 and April 2023, and the seventh, in Charlotte, earned Trump $32. 2 million.

Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck, New Jersey, is the ninth most successful course. In that period, it netted Trump $23. 6 million.

Other successful runs come with Westchester, which earned the Republican $19. 5 million. His course in Philadelphia earned him $12. 5 million and his in the Hudson Valley earned him $11. 4 million. During the era we’re looking at, Aberdeen earned him $6. 9 million.

Newsweek may not immediately realize Sportico’s knowledge and reached out to an email from a Trump representative for comment and requested comment.

If the homes are not seized, there has been speculation that Trump may have to sell part of his real estate empire to pay the fine he imposed on Engoron.

In a post this week on his Truth Social account, Trump criticized Engoron’s ruling and said he would likely have to sell some of his homes at low value to get bail amount.

“Judge Engoron needs me to spend scores of millions of dollars for the right to appeal his ridiculous decision. In other words, he is seeking to take away my right to appeal,” Trump wrote. “I would be forced to lend or sell giant properties, perhaps at discounted prices, and if I won the appeal, they would disappear. Does that make sense? WITCH HUNTS. ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”
