July 1 marked the start of a new PSR [Profit and Sustainability Rules] period, meaning groups across the country are spending a little more freely.
In June, many clubs rushed to sell players ahead of the June 30 PSR deadline, leading to deals between rivals to ensure no one earned a trouble deduction.
But now that the year’s worries are over, the smartest clubs are strengthening their squads for next season.
