GREENDALE, WI—Free COVID-19 testing will be available in Greendale on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The testing site will be at Greendale High School, which is located at 6801 Southway in Greendale.
All Wisconsin residents, ages 5 and up, are eligible for testing. Those who have signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and/or those who have had direct exposure to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 are encouraged to receive testing.
Testing is also advised for anyone who has had “close contact” with someone who’s tested positive for COVID-19. For those people who do test negative during the quarantine period, they will still need to complete their full 14-day quarantine before it is safe to go back to work or be around others, officials said.
The upcoming testing site will be drive-thru only. People receiving a test are expected to remain in their vehicles at all times. There are no appointments, as this is first come, first serve. Preregistration is encouraged but no required. For those who are interested, preregistration can be done at this link.
After being tested for COVID-19, health officials said people should limit contact with others until you have received your results. Test results may take 3-7 business days.
Negative results will be delivered either through an email with a secure link to view and print results, or the person will be contacted by phone.
Any positive test results will be directed to the local public health department and public health staff will call the person to provide further guidance.
If someone has been waiting for more than five days for their COVID-19 test results, they may call the Wisconsin COVID-19 Results Line at 866-419-6988, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., to get connected with a public health professional.
