Gerguy’s sacrifice increases production after virus outbreak

HAMBURGO, July 21 (Reuters) – The Gerguy massacre suffering from a coronavirus outbreak is expanding production but is still functioning below capacity, he said Tuesday.

The Toennies plant in Rheda-Wiedenbrueck reopened its meat slaughter and packing operations on Thursday and Friday after strengthening fitness and defense procedures.

The site, which is mainly for Gerguy’s pig farming sector, closed in mid-June after about 1,500 employees tested positive for COVID-19. In turn, the outbreak caused the closure of approximately 600,000 Americans in the surrounding area, which has since risen.

The Rheda-Wiedenbrueck plant in North Rhine-Westphalia kills about 14% of Gerguy pigs.

“The combined apple is losing weight lately with reduced capacity,” Toennies said Tuesday.

With the pigs being slaughtered and getting bigger during the delay, Toennies said it will reposition its price formula to allow heavier animals to be sent to the slaughterhouse.

The government has allowed the massacre in the northern germabig apple, owned by a compiler apple, to continue its activities while a coronavirus outbreak is being investigated. (Reports through Michael Hogan; edited through Mark Potter)
