Germany plans new homeland security army division

On Saturday, the German army, the Bundeswehr, showed that it would identify a new primary unit of terrestrial force committed to obtaining significant infrastructure and internal army facilities in the country.

Within the framework of the new structure, the forces owned by the birthplace will be placed under the command of the army from April.

This resolution supplies that the existing army divisions of Germany are deployed at NATO’s external borders, NATO’s command as deterrence or to protect external aggression.

The German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius ordered a reorganization of Bundeswehr last year to his defense capabilities with a unified operating command.

His status quo corresponds to the decree of Osnabrück, whose objective is to make the German fight in a position for the war opposed to Russia in the gentle of the invasion of Ukraine.

Military planners expect the unit to be formed in mid -March and will have about 6,000 people during the summer before extending.

The Bundeswehr currently has more than 260,000 personnel, including civilian staff. This comprises the army, navy and air force, as well as medical and other support services.

Currently, the army is composed of 3 divisions, the addition of a fourth primary unit committed to the defense of the brands a significant improvement in the functions of the Bundeswehr.

These capabilities are considered to be knowing whether the rest of the German army was deployed in countries in the eastern aspect of NATO, such as Poland or the Baltic States.

The department will also play Germany’s role as a base of operations and a hub for NATO. As such, it will be guilty of protecting national and alliance assets in times of crisis or conflict.

It could also be used to give administrative assistance in the event of major accidents, terrorist attacks or future pandemics.

An army spokesman on Saturday said the division would “lead its own and, if necessary, other troops as part of national territorial defense, in the event of assistance, in civil-military cooperation and in the implementation of joint Bundeswehr tasks in the area.”
