JACKSON, OHIO – Snack food manufacturer Herr Foods, Inc. has revealed $31 million plans to build a plant in Jackson and modernize a facility in Chillicothe, Ohio.
As part of its investments, Nottingham, Pennsylvania-based Herr Foods announced it has purchased the site from Jackson Industrial Rail, which features a 50,000-square-foot warehouse on the east side of the property. The warehouse will be renovated for food processing. and first of all it will come with a production line, but it will have room to accommodate more, Herr Foods said. A total of $25 million will be invested in the Jackson plant, adding the creation of 75 new jobs, Herr Foods said.
At the same time, $6 million has been set aside for the company’s facility in Chillicothe, mainly to build a packing area and upgrade equipment. A total of 50 new jobs are expected to be created as part of the expansion at Chillicothe, the company said. .
