Industrial output has been devastated through COVID-19, but forward-looking corporations implement survival strategies. One such corporation is Parking Spot, the parking block near the airport with 37 locations at 22 major airports.
Your solution? Diversify and segment your business and use your inventory to park everything from trucks and shared cars to 18-wheel cars and earthmoving equipment.
The switch from Parking Spot to an advertising garage reflects the airline industry’s new focus on shipping. Alaska Airlines recently received FAA approval to temporarily convert nine 737-90000 “parked” aircraft to hang the shipment in the cockpit. In April, Airbus announced that it would provide shipping condition kits for A330 and A350 passenger aircraft, as the air shipment request and costs skyrocketed the COVID-1nine pandemic.
When it comes to travel-like industries, parking near the airport doesn’t come to mind right away. However, parking near the airport (which differs from the more expensive parking at the airport) gained 12 million parking visits in the rustic style consistent with the year 2019, which corresponds to serving your best friend 2 to five million individual travelers.
But, as you can imagine, the chanting of an airport parking block is strongly connected to that of airlines. When few fly, few park.
Jeff Foland, 49, is president and CEO of Parking Spot. He claims to be the leader in parking near the airport with more than $20 million in coins in 2019. Foland, an engineer through training, is familiar with the parking closure, having been an executive of Hertz and United for 20 years before coming to Parking Square.
He says: “We looked at each other as an airline, they gave us commercial contracts and ongoing business. We do dynamic costs and, like airlines, we were given the 80-20 rule at stake: a small portion of consumers generates a wide portion of coins and profits. We have a loyalty program based on airline and hotel programs. Members enjoy benefits such as access to the premium lot or can get a washing of loose vehicles. About a third of Parking Spot consumers are business travelers. .
While the diversity of passengers in domestic flight accessories is greater since what appears to have been the lowest in April, the news is still not good. “We’re exactly where the airlines are,” Says Foland. “At the lowest level, we’re down 95%, now we’re down 70%.”
But Parking Spot had some practice to look for after the crisis. Foland could only say that the company’s expansion has “flattened” in 2016 and 2017. This “flattening” could come from the challenge of car-sharing, which crushed taxis and harmed the car rental industry.
Foland says Parking Spot was able to share the trip through “adjusting much more intelligently to who we’re headed and where. The radius [of the airport] we serve has increased. We went zip code through zip code. Media platforms »
Foland also notes that other Americans travel long distances, even from neighboring states, to get affordable flights. “For overseas trips, other Americans would drive from Alabama to Atlanta and park.” Similarly, he said for Newark Airport, Parking Spot can also focus its search for knowledge and marketing in suburban New Jersey communities surrounding the airport, connecting with travelers traveling by car and coming from Manhattan by public transportation or by car.
Parking Spot may also be looking for the diversity of its products. In apple’s big places, you may be able to make a variety of self-parking, ceiling, valet parking and premium service, either with other degrees of service and price. Who doesn’t pay more to quit first after this grueling business trip?
Foland describes Parking Spot as “a combined apple of goods and an apple bars of opescore.” The real estate sector is the basis of all this. Apple Apple’s real estate business is helping to stimulate beyond proper diversification efforts. The genre also allows Parking Spot to sell ancillary services, such as vehicle maintenance and cultural activities at LAX and other airports.
“COVID has highlighted why diversification is good,” says Foland. “A third of our sites generate coins that have nothing to do with airline parking.”
Foland says a “giant parcel company” uses parking spaces to buy their pickup trucks at night and source parking for drivers who bring their own vehicles into the field. The proximity of the vehicle park to airports is obviously a point of sale.
Garage systems for commercial vehicles began last year and resumed when COVID arrived in the airline industry. Genuine Parking Spot now also offers garage for semi-trailers, trucks and heavy equipment. Sports parking spots are even used as a drop-off and drop-off location for ride-sharing providers.
However, the parking spot has not forgotten its bread and butter activity. For example, with the pandemic, apple giants would like to drive their own cars at the airport in connection with carpooling. To make the most of this, Parking Spot has its own sanitation and hygiene.
“We will actually provide contactless contacts and access to smartphones, scanning barcodes,” says Foland. “All our drivers and staff wear a mask. We treat the vans with an antimicrobial solution several times consistent with the change. All surfaces are disinfected. On shuttles we get hand sanitizer and mask, which have a limited capacity for social estrangement. Foland can’t help yet adds: “In carpooling, there are no such guarantees.”
Foland is cheerfully shown through the uptick in Leibound’s travels, but hopes business trips will be much smaller to return. However, he says, “when other Americans are able to leave, be there to support and move them.”
