Camas – Bars has sites in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Spain, and the director of strategy and development, Luke Knowles, told the audience at the time a virtual conference MA500 this month (Thursday, July 16) what the apple compabig I learned the pandemic.
Knowles explained that the combined apple expected 2020 as a year of growth, after an investment but the pandemic, but that plans had to change.
He said: “Like everyone else, business is quite slow in the times in the UK and continental Europe. In March, we expected a tight year.”
“Last year was a great success for us, we are a emerging apple coming. We received smart help from our bank, raised some coins by selling assets and that allowed us to take extra rents on the Germabig apple and Scotland and simply eliminated the local stake we had and returned it to the business as well.
“We had a super strong 12 months leading up to March and luckily we had heavily invested into our core estate as well. We were looking at the 2021 financial year as being a rocking year for us.
“But Covid-1nine had other concepts and, like the other companies, we left the edge of a cliff in mid-March and discovered in Europe that the few weeks we closed beyond that in the UK were much more critical. the force to adjust the spread of Covid-1nine.
Comparing overseas operations with those of the United Kingdom, Knowles learned some sessions on the crisis.
He added: “It feels quite undeniable in the UK to get things done. As a uk-based company, we accelerated the inventions we were looking to make, such as switching to contactless and keyless, etc. was something we had in the pipeline, we just had to increase it because of Covid-19.
“It has been more difficult to move this from the UK to Europe just because we are the best friends we use British systems and we agree with the other legislation and regulations of either country.”
“As far as [lessons] are concerned about the EU’s move to the UK, the exposure rate has been wise but is never very operational. We looked at how the regulations worked for staff was slightly higher than in the UK.”
He also highlighted the differences in operations here in the UK as opposed to countries running across the continent.
Knowles added: “In terms of learning, we are able to have in England instead of Europe. There are no large operational apples, the maximum of them is due to local government regulations.
“In Germany, France and Spain, face coverings are mandatory and they have been for a matter of weeks now.
“It’s too quick a resolution that governments took there. Social distance to a gap of five meters from the beginning, which remained in place. In France, it’s only one meter.
“These decisions were made and respected, which allowed us to operate our best friend to organize our businesses to open much faster, we had a clearer burden than in our British companies.”
