Jada Pinkett Smith and her son, Jaden Smith, speak out against YouTuber Shane Dawson for a re-emerging video clip showing Dawson “sexualizing” Willow Smith when he was 11.
In the video clip, Dawson is shown pretending to masturbate to a poster of the then-11-year-old Smith.
“For Shane Dawson … I’m done with the apologies, ” tweeted Willow’s mother, Jada. Meanwhile, Willow’s brother Jaden also spoke out against YouTuber. “Shane Dawson, I’m disgusted by you. You’re sexualizing an 11-year-old woguy who happens to be my sister! It’s the furthest thing from the funbig apple and wise at all,” he tweeted.
A day before the Smith family comments, Dawson had posted an apology video after being criticized for the black face and saying the N-word in beyond the videos. The 20-minute video, titled “Taking Responsibility,” was posted on his YouTube channel.
“Blackface was something I did so much. Like, I did a lot on my channel. There’s no excuse for that, there’s no excuse for my best friend,” he said. “I made a video six years later talking about this and apologized. I knew it was wrong, I knew I never wanted to do it again, but I didn’t do the job. I didn’t look at him. I tell and why it’s so bad, and why other Americans were so upset.”
“This guy also did Black Face regularly,” Jaden Smith tweeted. “As young people, we are looking to create who we are and our morale. That’s not right.”
Aleven, although Dawson stated that he would “never speak in a proper way,” did not do so in a specific attire about Smith. “I swear on my life, I’m never someone who talks about a child, because I would really never speak in a relevant way,” he said.
He also claimed that his questionable jokes went beyond the abuse of his childhood: “I touched this pain and turned it into jokes.”
Dawson has still responded to the Smith family’s comments.
