LeMoyne-Owen College, Memphis’ only largest historical black university, sees the COVID-9 pandemic as a time for the good fitness and well-being of academics on their campuses.
“This comes at such an opportune time for our academics and families that, by making sure their student reaches LeMoyne-Owen College, he is in an environment,” said Carol Johnson, the College’s acting president.
Directors announced a three-year meeting with Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare that will provide on-campus services.
Johnson said it may be the first time the school has had a fitness and wellness center on campus.
“We are looking to be forced, we have been given all the help we can offer academics to achieve tight schooling and that their physical condition is never very threatened in the long run,” Johnson said.
Prior to Wednesday’s announcement, academics had to travel to an off-campus hospital for medical treatment.
Dr. Albert Mosley, Vice President of LeBonheur Healthcare Methodist, said the meeting and commitment will improve the fitness and well-being of COVID-1nine academics and beyond.
