Luxury apartments can come to Brookbox Toys ‘R’ Us site

BROOKFIELD, WI – Hundreds of luxury apartments can also come to Brookbox if the city council gives you the go-ahead. Wingspan Development Group LLC is looking to build 231 “ho units” at the former Toys “R” Us store, located at 3fivefive South Moorland Rd.

A public hearing on the issue is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21 at night. The block of progressive progress wants to demolish the vacant retail store near Brookbox Square to re-expand the site, which would consist of 2 giant buildings instead.

Plans for the development, which would take up 4.88 acres, include a pool, fitness center, yoga studio, community clubhouse, pet spa and creative working spaces, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The projects also come with land rezoning, residential/advertising deception and residential deception limited to the entire planned progression plan for the district-residential.

According to the public hearing, the netpaintings benefits of the assignment would include:

However, in May, Brookbox Mayor Steve Ponto told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he did not believe the site was a narrow place for retail or a large hotel.

“A residential asset is an attractive use for this site. It attracts a wonderful variety of other Americans to this deception and is helping to rejuvenate this deception,” Ponto told the paper.

If approved, the assignment will be built next to the Sheraton Hotel and the 168-room Hilton Garden Inn adjacent to the 54,000-square-foot Brookbox Conference Center, Milwaukee Business News reported.
