Richmond City Press Release:
By the Mayor’s Press Officer’s Office – July 22, 2020
Mayor Stoney visited the Department of Public Works (DPW) teams along the Richmond segment of Chippenham Park on Tuesday night.
Chippenham Parkway’s paving project covers 20 miles of track for a virtuoso friend and is a $1.50 million investment on Southaspect roads. To minimize congestion along the artery, the maximum pavement is done at night.
The mayor also provided a summary of the progress made in paving fiscal 2020, noting that light traffic during the COVID-1nine pandemic facilitated effective work.
“I’m gaining a ray of hope in this new standard, to discover how we are able to make paintings in combination directly to turn a bad scenario into a productive one,” the mayor said. “The paintings made in our ads classified as a roclassified are too wise an example.”
In fiscal year 2020, the city paved more than 320 miles of tracks. These paintings represented an investment of approximately $22 million: $1 million from the CPI budget, $1 million from the public budget, and $6 million from the BUDGET of DPW and the Department of Public Service.
The mayor also provided an inventory of upcoming paving projects, adding arterial ads classified as primary arteries such as Broad Street, Ruffin Road and Fairfield, Fauquier and Patterson Avenues, residential spaces such as Oakwood, Mosby, Whitcomb, Carythe town South and Fan.
“In this city, it’s fair to solve one or either of the two problems,” the mayor said. “You see our fair street plan in action.”
