New Yor State Teachers Announce Mitrano, Dans Bure and Kelles Approvals

TOMPKINS COUNTY, NY – The United Masters of new York State (NYSUT) has announced a chain of recommendations for Tracy Mitrano’s campaigns for the 23rd State Congress District of New York, Leslie Danks Burke for the 58th District of the State Senate, and Anna Kelles for the 125th District of the State Assembly.

“We prefer elected officials who will wake up for teachers, school professionals, fitness professionals and those who serve,” said Andy Pallotta, president of the Union. “This list of applicants is the ultimate productive solution for New Yorkers who will count on them in the corridors of power.”

NYSUT represents more than 600,000 members in the state and this is the first time Mitrano, who had held a position in 2018 and lost to current congressional representative Tom Reed.

“As a former instructor, this is too significant a backup,” Mitrano said in the click statement. “NYSUT members deserve to have representatives who see that they get the executive help they need, a more important friend now that we’re addressing the difficulty of reopening a pandemic in schools.”

The union’s approval for Danks Burke’s crusade also came with that of local teachers.

“We are proud of Leslie Danks Burke, who for years has been a strong advocate for greater investment in our public schools for students, educators and their families,” pallotta said. “As we continue to cap the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, it is quite critical that we choose leaders like Leslie who will fight to make a government bigger in public schools, schools and hospitals, the pillars of our communities. Leslie is committed to protecting teachers, school professionals, physical health professionals and those they serve, and we know that she is able to deliver results”.

“I am a product of public school all my life, from kindergarten to college, my mother was a high school and a member of a union, and my husband and I are proud parents of two teenagers in public school,” Danks Burke said. . “I am well aware that the schooling of any of the children is fundamental to the wise singing in our region, our state and our nation, and I am honored to fight alongside the respectful and professional service of NYSUT in the long term of our adolescence.”

Both applicants had seen Senior New York Sen. Chuck Schumer beyond this month.

NYSUT subsidized Kelles’ candidacy after his victory in the primary.

The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 3.
