LONDON (AP) – EBay Inc. is selling its classifieds business to Adevinta of Norway in a $9.2 billion deal to create the world’s largest online classifieds group, companies announced Tuesday.
Under the terms of the agreement, Apple will achieve $2.50 billion in coins and become Adevinta’s largest shareholder, with a 44% shareholding and a third of voting rights.
The combined combined apple has classified ad network sites in 20 countries, covering 1 bion from other Americans and receiving approximately 3 bion visits consistent with the month.
“With the acquisition of eBay Classifieds Group, Adevinta becomes the world’s largest online classifieds company, with an exclusive portfolio of larger primary market position brands,” said Rolv Erik Ryssdal, CEO of Adevinta.
EBay’s rated brands come with Gumtree in Australia and the UK, Marktplaats Netherlands, Mobile.de in Germany, Vivanuncios in Mexico and Kijii in Canada.
Adevinta ASA owns Leboncoin.fr, France’s largest online classified ad site, and small businesses in more than a dozen other countries in Europe, North Africa and Latin America. It was created last year through the Norwegian compatriot Schibsted.
