MIAMI – In downtown Little River, a culinary gem is making a splash. OFFSITE Nano Brewery Kitchen, founded through friends Steve Santana and Adam Darnell, brings a mix of craft beer and American classics to the neighborhood.
“We split it. So I take care of the food and he takes care of all the beer and the bar. That’s how it is in the brewing system, brewing. That’s it Adam and then I took over the food part. ” says Steve Santana, spouse of OFF SITE.
The restaurant has a clean, commercial look, with a long bar and an open kitchen, with unexpected ornamental elements. “There are saws, there are axes. You have old albums there, in the area. It’s my husband Adam’s grandfather’s red meat. a splitter and a bone saw. It comes from a circle of butchers’ relatives,” Santana said.
Being a component of Little River’s developing culinary scene, Santana has those words.
“I think Wynwood has eliminated a lot of small venues, adding the bar that we opened. I have an organization of friends who have restaurants around here. It’s got that Cheers vibe,” Santana said.
CBS News Lisa Petrillo and Santana host their tasting with OFF SITE’s signature beer, the “Super Good Lager. “
“It’s my kind of beer. It is light. It has a slight freshness,” Petrillo said.
“It’s beer that tastes like beer. There’s nothing special about it. There is no madness, there is nothing, it is cold, it is light,” Petrillo added.
The menu is a Chicago-style hot dog with neon sauce, onion, mustard, tomatoes, pickles, sports pepper, and celery.
“I was a little worried that he had the entire kitchen sink on top of him, but I love it. It’s like you said, a garden,” Petrillo said.
Their “Super Good Chicken Sandwich” lives up to its name.
“There’s so much crunch but so much juice in the middle and the soft bread and then the coleslaw on the most sensible thing is amazing,” Petrillo said.
The OFF SITE edition of the McRib is a vital offering. “I think it costs about half a kilo,” Santana estimated.
It’s smoked ribs, gooey fried fish sauce, pickles, and onions on a hoagie bun.
“If you’re hungry for McRib, don’t go to the other place. That’s the genuine deal. It’s phenomenal,” Petrillo said.
OFF SITE’s Nano Brewery and Kitchen is open six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday, for lunch and dinner.
