“It’s about how to serve and manage that visitor when they’re away from their desk or computer,” says Ryan Walsh, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Pax8. “You have to think incrementally about how you serve your visitors. “
Cloud distributor Pax8 this week unveiled its global marketplace app that will allow its consumers to locate and view products on the go.
“There’s a growing expectation that partners can get things done and get them done on the fly,” Elizabeth (Libby) McIlhany, Pax8’s lead product manager, told CRN. “Everyone’s life is complicated, whether it’s on the road or with our family, but we still wish we could achieve things. What we seek to do and what we focus on is our partners, what they want from us and what they want to be able to adapt to the way fashion painting is done, and that’s through a cellular experience.
The app was introduced in September in the United States to help partners do business easily, anywhere, anytime. This week, the Greenwood Village, Colorado-based company’s app will be available worldwide.

“We wanted to make sure that the wheels were on the bus, that it had pixel-perfect pixels, that we were in a position to move forward, and that it had the wonderful features that would make a difference for our partners. McIlhany said.
Today, MSPs can search for and manage products in the app, adding costs that are passed on to their customers. “Let’s say they’re traveling, they’re having lunch. They can just use the mobile app and take advantage of the time of the studies to provide an answer related to the products on the market,” Ryan Walsh, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Pax8, told CRN.
MSPs can also view existing invoices and tickets, edit and view subscriptions and percentage feedback through the app. The app can also be changed to French and German for foreign customers.
Lately, you can’t send price lists, make payments, or order products in the app. Push notifications for notes like upcoming renewal dates and price list statuses, as well as an “add to cart” feature, will be rolling out soon. additional features, McIlany said.
“It’s about how to serve and manage that visitor when they’re away from their desk or computer,” Walsh said. “You have to think incrementally about how to serve your visitors. In terms of the price of the mobile app, it’s so vital to combine it with a phenomenal experience. Sometimes it’s more vital than the service and product they provide. It’s a service when I want to, how I want, when I want.
The revamped cloud marketplace, introduced at Pax8’s Beyond convention in June 2023, where MSPs can connect with end consumers who were going to buy directly, is not a feature of the app lately.
“But everything we have on the core platform can just be in the app,” Walsh said. “The way we’re going to approach this is to do the first iteration and whatever makes sense to do in the app. “
Michael Cervino, co-founder and CEO of MSP Circle Square Consulting based in Radnor, Pennsylvania, is excited to be able to take the market with him.
“A lot of times when I reach out to a customer, I ask, ‘Does Pax8 have this product?’And I have to wait to get back to my office,” he said. “If I have the mobile app, I can see it and look it up, because Pax8 has so many SKUs that it’s hard to keep track of what they have at any given time. “
And the Pax8 team will continue to provide the app for the spouse experience.
“Our goal is to help our partners grow,” McIlany said. “They want tools, they want information, we can make their lives less difficult, and we believe the mobile app is one way to do that. “
The revamped cloud market won in early December against a small number of partners around the world. Focus teams are lately underway with a beta launch in April and a full global launch in time for the retailer’s Beyond convention in June.
“We want to make sure that we get a lot of feedback from our partners, make sure that we offer them what they want and what they want before we open it up to everybody,” McIlany said.
