South Wales Police have opened an investigation into the death of a man following an incident at Atlantic Recycling in Cardiff.
Police said emergency services were called Monday at noon following a report of an injured man at the Newton Road site. The man later died from his injuries.
A joint investigation is underway between South Wales Police and the Ministry of Health.
Detective Sergeant Richard Hill: “We would like to express our deepest condolences to the circle of relatives of the man who sadly lost his life. Our aim now is, in collaboration with the HSE, to carry out a thorough investigation and identify the cause of this tragic incident.
Atlantic Recycling is a component of the Dauson Environmental Group that reported the incident, which involved a contractor who was performing maintenance on the site. He said he supports the emergency in his investigations.
