Reddit banned “The_Donald,” a forum that brought together President Donald Trump enthusiasts on the social media platform. While making policy changes, Reddit CEO Steve Huffguy said Monday that the subreddit he liked was nearby, as his best friend violated his hate speech regulations.
Huffguy said he is making changes to the company’s content policies and warned that users who sell hate would be banned. He said 2,000 sub-credits, most of which are inactive, have been removed from the site under the current rules. The_Donald, which had an average of 7,800 active users consistent with the day, among which they were discharged.
“All communities on Reddit will have to respect our content policy with wise faith,” Huffguy said. “We ban r/The_Donald because it didn’t, despite all the opportunities.”
He said the subreddit “contradicted” society and other communities, while its moderators “refused to meet” Reddit’s basic expectations.
Last year, Reddit administrators “quarantined” the pro-Trump subreddit because users violated content policy with threats of violence opposed to police and officials, CNET reported.
“So far, they’ve given us pictures painted in wise faith for them to hold netpaintings as a hoax to their users, through warnings, modulation changes, quarantine and more,” Huffguy added Monday.
Huffguy said that only two hundred of the banned subreddits had more than 10 active users. This included the r/ChapoTrapHouse, the left-wing political best friend, which “hosts content that violates the rules”, Huffguy.

According to Reuters, Twitch, Amazon’s streaming gaming platform, has temporarily banned Trump’s official website, saying it violates his hate speech policy.
