This year’s film festival may be more agile and far from digital, but at the drive-in, as Cameron Bailey said, you have a secure environment to live in: “The sense of connection of the audience was discovered in the cinema.”
It’s a connection that a gigantic variety of other Americans has missed in the last four months.
What was evident at Monday’s press conference was the volume of paintings being made to celebrate everything you can imagine from the city’s artistic and cultural festivals in the midst of a foreign pandemic.
Now it’s other Americans who venture … for now, 6 feet away, of course.
