Report: Darius Days returns to LSU for junior season

According to CBS Sports ahead of Jon Rothstein on Monday, LSU ahead Darius Days will pass back to the Tigers for their junior season after testing the waters of the NBA draft in recent months. Monday is the last day for players to stay in the draft or move to college.

LSU head coach Will Wade awaits official decisions from forward Trendon Watford and guard Javonte Smart, while forward Emmitt Williams helps maintain his decision in the draft.

The Raleigh, Florida home averaged 11.1 problems and 6.8 rebounds consistent with the game in the 2019 season, while shooting 48.6% of the draw in 31 games. Just before the SEC tournament, Days suffered a chest injury opposite Georgia, underlining how vital it is to the team.

“It’s a vital component of what we do and we’re much better when you’re on the field. It’s productive for us,” chief coach Will Wade said before the Days tournament. We have to put him in a smart position to keep him out of the fouls and keep him on the field, offensively and defensively. We came through some things; I think Courtese Cooper’s progression helped. We take a few days with Cooper and maybe it’s more effective.

“As a staff, we want to do it with rotations and make sure our rotations are stricter and greater. I think we can help the Older Days do what we want to do.”

LSU guard Charles Manning announced his previous return this spring, while guard James Bishop moved from the show to George Washington earlier this spring. Courtesy Forward Cooper also entered the NCAA’s movement portal.

As the 2019–20 season approaches without a true rim guard, head coach Will Wade said he was concerned about his advantage zone, but Trendon Watford, Emmitt Williams and Days did a forged task to recover, despite their lack of size. Watford declared himself for the NBA draft before Days.

“I think those boys were better suited. We can only count on two of the 3 to play well,” Wade told Geaux247 before this spring. “When the three of us played well, we were in a very smart way. I think the rebound would be a major challenge for us as the season approaches. These guys did a very, very clever task on the panels.”

“Trendon did a wonderful task, Days did a wonderful task, Emmitt did a wonderful task. And Skylar (Mays), which we talked about earlier, did a great job of helping to recover defensively from the guard post.”
