China on Monday announced opposing sanctions on one or more U.S. officials, adding Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, in retaliation for legislating to directly punish senior Chinese officials for the alleged Beijing therapy of the Uighur Munarrow minority in Xinjiang, according to several reports.
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying said sanctions against U.S. officials would begin Monday. Republican senators, whether prominent critics of China, have been indexed through Hua as targets for “corresponding sanctions.”
Others come with the ambassador general for the freedom of foreign devotees, Sam Brownback, U.S. Rep. Chris Smith, and the Congressional Executive Committee on China, which oversees huguy rights and presents an annual report to President Trump and Congress, Reuters.

Smith said Muslims in China are “the subject of genocide” through “forced abortion, sterilization and concentration camps.” Smith also said that devout persecutions oppose Tibetan Catholics, Muslims, Christians and Buddhists.
