Bill Simmons criticized Friday for the loss of diversity in The Ringer’s newsroom, saying he wanted it to be “priority-consistent” from the birth of the sports site.
At The Bill Simmons Podcast, the sports analyst and entrepreneur distrusts the beginnings of the site he founded in 2016: “I would like it to be a constant priority for us to make an easier commitment to diversity than we do. I think on this day and the age we’re looking into things, you’re chasing some people, it never works very well.”
He added: “You feel like you’re hunting and I think the moment the rustic is happening, in general, in the last four weeks is that if you feel like you’re hunting, it’s not wise enough.”

He swore the “it’s going to do better” site.
Earlier this week, the New York Times reported that Simmons and The Ringer were being criticized for a discussion held on the podcast beyond this month, where one guest described the protesters as “breaking into slipper shops” before congratulating Simmons on his hiring practices.
The Union of Ringer called the site on June 1 to not have black editors or editors to hide the NFL or NBA and receive the maximum of commonly white visitors for the podcasts applicable to the site. The union said the site had “a wonderful variety of paintings to do.” Simmons, for his part, apologized.
