KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — A British security adviser working with a team of sleuths was killed after a Russian missile hit a hotel in the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk, Reuters confirmed.
Ryan Evans, 38, was staying at the Sapphire Hotel with colleagues in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine when a Russian missile hit Saturday night.
Two members of Reuters’ six-person team were hospitalized with injuries.

Local officials said the hotel was hit by a Russian Iskander-M ballistic missile, leaving journalists with blast injuries, concussions and cuts to their bodies.
Associated Press reporters at the scene described the hotel as “rubble,” and bulldozers were used to clear the rubble hours after the attack.
In addition to the hotel, a neighboring multi-story building was also destroyed, according to Donetsk regional governor Vadym Filashkin.
The Kharkiv region of eastern Ukraine was also targeted by Russian fire, injuring civilians, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov wrote on the Telegram messaging app on Sunday.
In the Chuhuiv region of Kharkiv, five more people were injured, along with a 4-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, after two houses were hit by a Russian attack.
In the city of Kharkiv, another eight people were injured when a two-story building was set on fire by a Russian attack.
In Russia, five more people were killed in Ukrainian shelling in the Belgorod border region, officials said Sunday.
Twelve other people were injured in the Russian town of Rakitone, 38 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, in addition to a 16-year-old woman believed to be in critical condition, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Sunday. Another man was also killed in a drone strike in the border village of Solovevka, he later wrote on social media.
