Meanwhile, Ukraine has taken the lead by introducing a Star Wars-style laser weapon, which Kiev calls the Tryzub, or trident in Ukrainian. Recently, Vadym Sukharevskyi, commander of unmanned systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told a defense summit in Kyiv that the war-torn country had developed a high-tech laser weapon capable of destroying flying objects. The Tryzub, or trident, is notably a nod to Ukraine’s national and represents strength, unity, and independence.

Since there is not much to achieve with Tryzub, according to various media outlets, the weapon can be used to destroy any flying object at distances of more than two kilometers. Col. Vadym Sukharevskyi did not provide further details about Tryzub, saying that it is genuine and currently operational. However, it does not reveal the location or region where it is deployed.
According to some defense experts, the weapon could be powered by the UK’s DragonFire, a laser-directed electric weapon (LDEW) that uses a powerful beam of light to destroy its target. The weapon is capable of attacking at a smooth speed.
