EXCLUSIVE – A little-known nonprofit conducting a broad voter registration effort ahead of the 2024 election is facing congressional scrutiny over noncitizen voting considerations, according to a letter.
On Tuesday, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) sent the letter to Vot-ER, a charity that, according to a Washington Examiner investigation, is funded through left-wing dark money teams and has partnered with public fitness centers to sign up. patients to vote. The congressman addressed the letter to Vot-ER Director Aliya Bhatia, a left-wing activist, and CEO Judith Faulkner of Epic Systems, a fitness software company that was allegedly connected to Vot-ER’s activities.
“I am writing to you with my considerations about the joint voter registration efforts undertaken through your respective organizations,” Roy wrote in the letter to Bhatia and Faulkner. “Specifically, as evidence mounts that noncitizens illegally sign up to vote in federal elections across the country, I am writing to inform you of the steps your organizations are taking to ensure that noncitizens do not register to vote as part of their joint effort.
Vot-ER, which did not respond to a request for comment from the Washington Examiner, founded by Alister Martin, a physician and former adviser to Vice President Kamala Harris.
Vot-ER staff meet in a 2021 town hall with the president’s executive office, the Justice Department and other agencies to plan implementation of an executive order issued by President Joe Biden that provides agencies with new equipment to record to voters, the Washington Examiner reported.
