A man tried to kill Donald Trump at a crusade rally in Pennsylvania.
When the shots rang out, the former president fell to the ground with his ear covered in blood and was temporarily removed from the place by security personnel.
Trump’s latest assassination
In the attack, one spectator was killed and two others were seriously injured.
The shooter, known as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, shot and killed through the Secret Service at the scene.
Here’s how the incident unfolded minute by minute:
6:03 p. m. (11:03 p. m. United Kingdom time) — Trump took the level for his crusade rally in Butler, a city about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh. He waved to the crowd while playing God Bless the USA and began to speak temporarily.
18:11 (23:11) – Several were shot at the scene. Trump grabbed his ear and then fell to the ground.
In the footage of that moment, which you can see below, you can hear him simply shouting “fire, fire, fire. “
6:12 p. m. (11:12 p. m. ) – Secret Service agents pounced on the 78-year-old man. “Are we in a position to move forward?” someone can be heard saying.
“Let me take my shoes,” Trump said, before telling officials to wait as he raised a fist in defiance to the crowd.
He then left the level and entered a waiting armored vehicle.
18:14 (11:14 p. m. ) – Mr. Trump’s motorcade left the event.
18:42 (11:42 p. m. ) – The Secret Service showed an incident at the rally and that Mr. Trump was “safe. “

19:03 (12:03 a. m. ) – Trump’s crusading team issued a statement confirming that he is “doing well” and is being examined at a local medical center.
19:10 (00:10 a. m. ) – Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger said there have been reports that a man in the crowd was killed in the incident.
19:28 (00:28 a. m. ) – The user suspected of being the shooter was shown dead through Mr. Goldinger. It also showed that a member of the public had been killed and another user in critical condition.
7:50 p. m. (12:50 a. m. ) – Law enforcement officials told the Associated Press news firm that the shooting is being investigated as an attempted murder.
19:55 (12:55 a. m. ) – United States President Joe Biden issued a statement saying he had been informed of the incident and was praying for Trump.
“Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There is no position for this type of violence in the United States,” he said.
“We will have to come together as one country to condemn it. “
About 20 minutes later, he held a brief televised briefing in which he said he wanted to call Trump to speak with him as temporarily as possible.
“The demonstration was able to take positions peacefully and without any problem. But the concept that there is political violence or that kind of violence in the United States is just unheard of, it’s just not appropriate,” he said. He testified.
“Everyone will have to condemn him, everyone. “
20:15 (1:15 a. m. ) – Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said he was “horrified” by the “shocking scenes” at the demonstration. “Political violence, in any form, has no place in our societies, and I agree with all the victims of this attack,” he added.
20:42 (01:42 a. m. ) – Trump posted on his online page Truth Social saying he shot him in the upper right ear and that “a lot of bleeding occurred. “
He thanked the Secret Service for their “quick response” and sent his condolences to the family of the user killed at the demonstration.
“I received a bullet that went through the top of my right ear. I immediately knew something was wrong, I heard a whistle, gunshots and I immediately felt the bullet tear my skin,” he said.

21:02 (2:02 a. m. ) – Sky News won a full U. S. Secret Service award. The U. S. Department of Homeland Security confirms that there were “several” shots fired at the demonstration and that they came from outside the venue.
Spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the shooter had been “neutralized. “He said two spectators were seriously injured.

9.27pm (2.27am) – An aerial photo of a building just 150m away from where Mr Trump gave his speech emerged. A rifle and a body could be seen on the roof.
10:09 p. m. (3:09 a. m. ) – The White House said Biden is returning to Washington from his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
23:19 (4:19 a. m. ) — Trump left the Butler domain out of Secret Service and state police coverage, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said.
11:30 pm. (4:30 a. m. ) – Biden boarded Air Force One to return to Washington D. C. after speaking with Trump about the shooting.
23:41 (4:41 a. m. ) – Sky News’ American spousal network, NBC, reported that the shooter was known as a man in his 20s.
23:53 (4:53 a. m. ) – Law enforcement held a press conference and said they were treating the incident as an assassination of Mr. Trump.
FBI Special Agent Kevin Rojeck said the motive was not known and that the government was yet to confirm the shooter’s identity.
He added that “suspicious packages” had been discovered near the gunman’s location and that bombs had been planted as a “precaution. “
00:35 (5:35 a. m. ) – Biden is in Washington and lands at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.
12:50 a. m. m. (5:50 a. m. ) – Trump is photographed for the first time since the attack. His crusade team posted a video of him walking down the stairs of an airplane after flying to New Jersey from Pennsylvania.
1:37 am (6:37 am) – The FBI identified the shooter as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20. In a statement, investigators said he had been “neutralized” at the scene, but that the investigation was still ongoing.
