The communities earned a stop on the tour through a competitive application process that focused on small towns and rural areas. Each will receive a grant to support the exhibit and accompanying community activities.

The “Reimagine: Contemporary Georgia Artists” exhibition is designed to raise awareness among other communities and bring tourism to life.

In one of the chosen locations, works by local and regional artists will be displayed alongside 20 notable works from the state collection.

“This is more than just an art exhibition,” said Tina Lilly, executive director of the Georgia Council on the Arts. “‘Reimagine’ shows how the arts can contribute to multigenerational engagement and network development. By deliberately interacting with artists, communities can locate artistic spaces for answers to problems, creating more colorful places where other people need to live and visit. “

A recent study found that nonprofit arts and culture in Georgia generate an annual economic impact of at least $1. 27 billion and support about 20,000 jobs.

This is the exhibition schedule:

The works in the exhibition will include paintings, photographs and drawings, as well as handicrafts such as quilting and lace.
