During market closures, you won’t be able to transact on the most sensible brokerages or online investment platforms (waiting for crypto exchanges).
These are the key dates and holidays on which the stock and bond markets will be closed in 2024.
The exchange’s general trading hours are Monday through Friday from 9:30 a. m. to 9:30 a. m. m. a 4:00 p. m. Y. However, the market will close at 1 p. m. ET the day before or after certain holidays.
In addition, you may be able to trade in the pre-market hours (from 4 p. m. to 4 p. m. ). m. a 9:30 p. m. ET), depending on your brokerage or investment platform. The same applies to exchanges outside of general hours. It is available from Four p. m. to 20h. ET.
But the hours available will likely vary depending on your broker. For example, SoFi Invest only offers pre-market trading from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m. m. to 9:30 a. m. ET, but offers extended trading hours from 4 p. m. m. to 8 p. m. Eastern Time.
The bond market has slight diversifications in terms of trading hours and early holidays/closures. Its pre-market trading hours are four a. m. m. a. m. to 8 a. m. , the same time as above is from 8 a. m. It is five p. m. Eastern Time, and its extended trading hours extend from 5:00 p. m. to 8 p. m. Y.

You probably won’t be able to trade on the weekend or holiday when the market is closed unless you use forex or electronic communication networks.
During the holidays, you can check balances, monitor the functionality of your wallet, or make deposits or withdrawals. Please note that you will not be able to place any orders until the market position is reopened. The rate at which budget deposits or withdrawals are made depends on your brokerage’s hours of operation.
