The Dixie Chicks are now known as The Chicks.
On Thursday, the trio of countries replaced their social media identifiers to @TheChicks, and their official now redirects to thechicks.com.
“We are here at this time,” a message posted on the site, signed through members Martie Maguire, Natalie Maines and Emily Strayer, reclassified.
They also released a new song, “March March”, with a full video of protest sequences over the years, while the names of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and dozens of others appear on the screen.
The resolution comes a month after Floyd’s death, prompting four weeks of protests and national talks on systemic racism.

Next month, The Chicks will release “Gaslighter”, their first album in 1 fourth year.
The trio’s career took a radical turn in 2003, after Maines criticized then-President George W. Bush and the approach to the war in Iraq. They had never been successful on the song, however, their next album, 2006, “Taking The Long Way”, was no. 1 and won the Grammy for album of the year.
