Cake has taken control of the Internet. Last week, the incredibly realistic cake paintings of Turkish food artist Tuba Geckil, who posted his paintings with Red Rose Cakes on Instagram @redrosecake_tubageckil, were shared through Buzzfeed’s food website, Tasty. Its very good collection of cakes includes a Croc shoe that is a cake, a toilet paper that is a cake and even a pepperoni pizza that is a cake.
Now, those hyper-realistic cakes have sent other people down a slippery slope and wondered, what if it’s all about the cake? After all, if a Croc can be a cake, or a box of White Claw or Angela Merkel or a Louis Vuitton bag, can’t it all be a cake?
To perceive their emotions about the new cake-based truth, others turned to social media to calculate their mind and fear that we were all in the cake. Soon, Twitter was picked up with cake memes. Some of the memes were other people who suffered with the new truth who sought to know where the pie madness ended. Others have added a new context to pop culture, such as Agent Dale Cooper, star of Twin Peaks, knowing that we live in a cake, admitting that K-pop star Jungwoo can simply be a cake and absolutely converting the center of the film 127 hours Others provided new clues on ancient moments, such as the murder of Julius Caesar and the beheading of Marie Antoinette. Some, of course, were just a laugh at the thought that the global and everything else were cakes.
