Dan Bongino, a radio and television political commentator and Secret Service agent for more than 10 years, said the roof where Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate Donald Trump has been occupied by law enforcement.

“According to my source, this roof was intended to be a police station. . . [he] pretended to be somebody there,” Bongino said Tuesday on Donald Trump Jr. ‘s “Triggered” podcast from the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. .

“Now they are making excuses about the slope of the roof. My source tells me that no one knows why the message didn’t appear. “

“I also told him that the USSS director told management and the DHS secretary, ‘If you need to keep your job, you’re going to stay quiet about this. ‘”

Bongino told Trump Jr. that a user featured in his respective post “could have had your father killed, in a matter of millimeters. “

The camera pans to the stage, as Trump stands up, flanked by Secret Service agents, and raises his fist.

Todd, the Army veteran who took the video and asked to be known only as Todd the Driller, said he showed up first to bring his son to the rally, but was worried the crowd would make too much noise.

A bar in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, got rid of a questionable sign that made a joke about the attempted assassination of former President Trump, days after it was publicly criticized, according to reports.

A local NBC station in West Palm Beach reported that the sign outside Harry’s Banana Farm read, “How can you miss such a swollen head?”, mocking Trump’s attempted assassination on Saturday.

“You know, this sign is meant to be fun, and I thought it was just another funny sign, but it struck a chord,” Lou De Stout, general manager of Harry’s Banana Farm, told the station.

He said that everything he posted on the poster represented freedom of expression.

Knowing that everyone would be talking about Trump’s assassination attempt, he said he referred to the shooting on the poster in front of the public.

In less than 24 hours, he said, his bar received threats of violence and arson, and some asked the owner to close the establishment.

De Stout reportedly said that he has gotten countless negative reviews on Yelp.

“After a while, I thought. . . that I couldn’t allow my coworkers to be threatened for the things I do, it’s not fair to them,” De Stout told the station. “Some of them are girls. I have young children and they make a wonderful team here and I didn’t need to put them in danger. “

The New York Post reported that some of the criminals’ neighbors, who were on the same street, gave information about the family of the possible murderer.

A neighbor described Crooks’ sister, Katie Crooks, as a “hard-working” woman who worked two jobs and moved into an apartment in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, with Thomas Crooks’ family just three years ago.

“The user who helped her, I couldn’t tell if he was a man or a woman,” the Post learned from a neighbor. “A couple of days later I asked her if he was one of her brothers and she said he was her brother. “The one who shot Trump… He’s really skinny. ”

As for the father, Matthew Brian Crooks, the neighbor told the Post that he drove the moving truck and that it was too heavy to help with the move. Instead, the neighbor said, Thomas helped his sister.

Still, the neighbor called Katie Crooks “a true entrepreneur,” reported the Post, who worked at one of the top schools as a janitor and waitress at a restaurant.

“She’s friendly,” the registered Republican’s neighbor told the Post. “She’s a great girl. She couldn’t say a bad word about him. “

Sheriff Michael Slupe’s call made headlines after he showed the media that a Butler Township police officer confronted Thomas Crooks on the roof, but fell after Crooks pointed his gun at him.

“I’m on par with sheriff’s deputies and no other law enforcement agency,” Sheriff Slupe told Fox News, while protecting his others. “My deputies carried out their tasks in the spaces they were assigned and went beyond their expectations. After the shooting began. . . I targeted other people and the police near the buildings.

Secret Service resources showed that local law enforcement officials were stationed inside the AGR building while Crooks was on the roof. In an interview with ABC News, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle said she should not place officials on the roof because it was tilted “at its highest point. “

“And then, you know, there’s one protective thing that would be here, and that is we wouldn’t need to put anybody on a pitched roof,” Cheat said.

House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-Ky. ) issued a subpoena for United States Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to testify before lawmakers after the assassination of former President Trump on Saturday.

Fox News Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram reports that Comer has issued a subpoena for Cheatle to appear before House lawmakers next Monday.

A spokesperson for the Oversight Committee said a subpoena “would prevent anyone through the [Department of Homeland Security] from retracting Monday’s appearance,” Pergram said on “The Story with Martha MacCallum” on Tuesday.

“They believe communication is going quite well. A source told me that Homeland Security intervened and silenced some of the communication between the Secret Service and the Capitol,” Pergram said.

In addition to next Monday’s hearing, there will be a hearing the following Tuesday in which House lawmakers will hear from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FBI Director Christopher Wray, Pergram confirmed.

USSS director Cheatle has been under surveillance in recent days for the Secret Service’s failure to salvage an assassination attempt on the former present.

Cheatle said Tuesday that the building from which Crooks fired had “a sloping roof at its tip. “

“And so, you know, there’s a protection issue that would be considered here, and that is we wouldn’t need to put anyone on a sloped roof,” Cheat said. “And then, you know, the resolution was made to Protect the building from the inside. “

Despite his comments, snipers were stationed on the sloping roofs of the building where Trump was speaking. Video footage shows that the construction is obviously more vulnerable than the one in which Trump’s would-be assassin was eventually shot after shooting the former president.

Two federal law enforcement resources told Fox News that the scope of the Iranian plot is unclear.

The resources said the Secret Service’s coverage of Trump has increased in weeks because of the intelligence.

“They did a job,” he told the Post. “It’s surreal for all of us. ”

As Secret Service agents disposed of Trump from the scene, he heard that he was looking to get his shoes back.

The video displays one of the agents who surrounded Trump picking up his shoes and throwing them off the level before the former president brought to safety.

Trump was rushed to the hospital after he apparently suffered an ear injury and was photographed with blood on the right side of his face and head as Secret Service agents escorted him from the collection site.

The FBI investigation into the attempted assassination of former President Trump focuses on the reaction of law enforcement.

Sources told Fox News that FBI agents are interviewing members of local law enforcement, the officer who saw gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks armed, but left the building. The criminals opened fire a few seconds later, according to police sources.

There is great frustration within the police network over the officer’s actions, according to sources close to the matter.

“The officer had both hands in the air to get on the roof, [and] they never left them there because the shooter had turned to the officer, and correctly and intelligently, the officer let him pass,” he told KDKA-TV.

Exterior security of the Secret Service’s secure perimeter is provided periodically through state and local authorities.

FBI agents were seen Tuesday at the American Glass Research complex that gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks used as a foothold for his sniper in his assassination attempt on former President Trump.

Overnight, staff disposed of the giant American flag flying over Trump as he delivered his speech to thousands of supporters in Butler, Pennsylvania.

FBI agents entered Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, on Monday, the home of Trump’s longtime assassin, Thomas Crooks.

The federal government says Crooks, 20, shot Trump with an AR-15 as the former president spoke at his rally in Butler on Saturday night, but the gunman missed his target, hitting three victims, one of whom died.

The FBI added that it had “conducted about 100 interviews with law enforcement officers, event participants and other witnesses” and that the agency’s “work continues. “

A speaker at President Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania, where he was shot and wounded in an assassination attempt, spoke Monday after treating the attendee who was fatally shot in the head.

Elmore, seated next to Republican Senate candidate David McCormick, former House candidate Sean Parnell and Slippery Rock Mayor Jondavid Longo, had returned to his seat when he heard what sounded like firecrackers.

“Immediately, I, Sean Parnell and J. D. Longo, say, because of our military experience, that that’s happening,” said Elmore, who is also vice chairman of the County Republican Committee. Beaver.

“So we looked around, explored the area and listened to it again. And then we started yelling, ‘Everybody, get down. ‘”

Elmore said he saw Secret Service agents piling on Trump’s most sensible stuff, before noticing a rally attendee calling a doctor.

While those present proclaimed him a hero, Elmore said that the real hero was the doctor who performed CPR on Comperatore, who died from his injuries.

“People understood that I was an important person. I’m just an average citizen who wanted to be there, went to the event and spoke, but people understand otherwise. So I accepted it and said, you know, ‘Everybody. ‘go down, down, down,'” he said.

“School of Rock” star Jack Black announced Tuesday that his comedy group, Tenacious D, canceled its current tour after Black’s bandmate made a dark joke about an attempt to assassinate former President Trump.

Black said in an email to DailyMail. com that he was “blinded” by Gass’ comments.

“I was surprised with what I said on Sunday’s program. I will never tolerate hate speech or inspire political violence in any form,” Black said.

“After careful consideration, I no longer believe it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all long-term artistic projects are on hold. I thank enthusiasts for their understanding. ”

The photojournalist who captured the symbol of former President Trump’s provocative reaction to an assassination attempt on Saturday says he’s simply doing his homework and “history will judge whether it’s iconic. “

Moments after a bullet grazed Trump’s right ear on Saturday, he raised his fist toward the crowd of supporters as he ran off the level with his face smeared with blood, with the Secret Service flanking him and placing a fluttering American flag above his head. Associated Press photographer Evan Vucci captured the symbol that quickly went viral and made headlines around the world.

Vucci, a Pulitzer winner who has covered thousands of similar occasions for the AP since 2003, said the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, was “just like any other” until he heard high-pitched noises in his left shoulder.

“I knew immediately that they were gunshots. I pointed my lens at the scene and saw Secret Service agents running toward the president to cover him. And coming out of that moment, I ran to the level and grabbed my wide-angle lens, and I started taking pictures, I went into painting mode,” Vucci said.

Vucci took a wide angle to make sure the flag was flying high up in his shot. He saw a pickup truck parked on the side of the level as Secret Service agents covered Trump and chaos erupted around him. Vucci said he “ran” to the side of the level, assuming where Trump was going to come from, and that he was given the position to take pictures as Trump waved his fist into the crowd.

“That’s where I was when he came down. . . And that’s the image that a lot of people share,” he said.

The volunteer firefighter who died while protecting his family from the sniper who tried to kill former President Trump over the weekend at a rally in Pennsylvania said “get off!”as his last words,” his spouse revealed.

“He’s my hero,” Helen Comperatore told the newspaper from her home near Sarver, Pennsylvania. “He said, ‘Get down!’ That’s the last thing he said. ”

“The children and I were there as a family,” she added. “He was just excited. It would be a wonderful family day. ”

Corey Comperatore, 50, former leader of the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company. The branch now has a monument installed outside its chimney station, depicting Comperatore’s uniform, honoring whom they described as a “brother, son, husband. ” “father and friend. ”

Helen Comperatore also said President Biden tried to call his circle of relatives after the incident, but “I didn’t need to reach him. ”

“I haven’t spoken to Biden,” he said. My husband is a staunch Republican and he wouldn’t have asked me to talk to him. ”

“I don’t have any ill will toward Joe Biden,” Helen Comperatore added. “I’m not one of those people who cares about politics. I, Trump, vote for him, but I have no ill will toward Biden. ”

Helen Comperatore described the shooter at the demonstration, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, as a “despicable child. ”

The director of the United States Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, stated in an interview that responsibility for the security failure that led to the attempted assassination of former President Trump ultimately lies with her.

“The buck stops with me,” Cheatle told ABC News Tuesday morning.

The director claimed that the incident never happened and proved that the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was known as a user of interest, but by the time Crooks was located, it was too late to avoid his bullets.

“The shooter was known as a potentially suspicious person,” he said. “Unfortunately, given how temporary things happened, during the time that this individual was nevertheless located, they were on the roof and were able to shoot the former president. “.

Cheatle told ABC News that his first reaction to the shooting was “shock. ”

He also said the Secret Service was aware of security vulnerabilities presented through the construction in which criminals took the position of a sniper to attack Trump. However, it was not about placing workers on the roof.

“I told him how worried I was and tried to make sure I knew how he was doing,” Biden told NBC’s Lester Holt in an interview Monday night. “It looked good. He said I was fine and thanked me for calling. “”.

“I told him that he was literally in Jill and I’s prayers, and that his entire circle of family was going through this,” Biden added.

Holt’s interview touched on a number of issues related to Biden’s complicated crusade for the presidency in November and how Trump’s assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania replaced the election.

“[My] first reaction was, oh my God, it’s, oh, there’s so much violence now,” Biden told Holt. “I mean, there is this: There is no position for violence in politics in the United States. None. Zero. ”

“We’ve reached the point where it’s no longer unusual not to communicate about killings, but to communicate, for example, the Jan. 6 attack on the capital,” Biden continued. “I competed in this race in early 2020, for the 2020 race. I wasn’t going to run back because I had lost my son. I didn’t feel. . . and I looked at what happened in Charlottesville, Virginia. ”

“There are no excuses,” Biden reiterated. “Zero. ”

Former White House physician and current Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson said former President Trump was “not at all baffled” by the assassination attempt that rocked his crusade in Butler, Pennsylvania, over the weekend.

“I think the staff is a little shocked, but that hasn’t baffled them at all. He is the same as always and is in a good mood. He jokes. He’s very excited and energetic. ” He said.

“I’m proud to see that. It’s a clever example of seeing how other people who paint for you get a little moved. It’s a leadership move, and I’m proud to see the way it’s progressed. “

Jackson’s nephew, who attended Trump’s crusade in Butler on Saturday, was also wounded when a bullet grazed his neck, but he is “fine. “

“To be fair to you, I think the most traumatic thing for him was not the superficial, minor injury that he sustained, but the fact that he was in the medical tent with the deceased man,” Jackson said.

Jackson, who served as White House physician during the Obama and Trump administrations, had the opportunity to read about the former president’s injury while aboard a plane with him on Sunday.

“It hit his ear, the blood was clearly visible, but he turned his head at just the right moment and took off a little of the most sensitive component of his ear. The ear, of course, is very vascular. ” So he’s bleeding like crazy. He is bandaged and everything because he has a tendency to bleed again, and he is already a little bit,” he said.

The Fraternal Order of Police questions the reaction of the United States Secret Service (USSS) to the assassination of former President Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night.

Yoes’ comments come as the USSS faces a national backlash over its protection at the Trump rally that claimed the life of 50-year-old Corey Comperatore after he fired while protecting his spouse and daughters from gunfire. Two other people, David Dutch, 57, of New Kensington, Pennsylvania, and James Copenhaver, 74, of Moon Township, Pennsylvania, were seriously injured.

The FOP noted that although data on the shooting is still developing, Crooks was still able to succeed in a position that presented a direct line of sight to Trump, who is across the USSS.

“We must not forget that the law enforcement project is a shared project and that law enforcement at all levels cooperate and collaborate with each other,” Yoes continued. “More than 90% of law enforcement officials in the United States are [state] and local officials. They would not be as effective in their jobs without the help of their federal colleagues, and our federal partners would not be able to carry out their tasks without the help of their federal colleagues. State and local agencies.

Ashton Packe, a retired Las Vegas detective, shared an overview of the investigation into Butler’s murder.

“At first, I was impressed,” he said. I couldn’t believe that what I was seeing was actually happening because we had a lot of religion in the Secret Service formula to protect former presidents, current presidents and their families. “

“I counted less than 3 seconds between the initial shot and an officer lunging at President Trump’s body,” he said. “I analyzed the video. I’ve seen it myself several times. “

The veteran law enforcement officer said the suspect, known as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was an “amateur. “

“As far as the suspect is concerned, it’s time for a fan,” he said. “Everyone you know with an AR-15 rifle or an M4 variant is very effective within 150 meters of where it was fired.

“And so he failed in that area, like me, he failed at a lot of things in his life,” Packe said.

A former FBI special agent has given insight into what federal investigators are good for after cracking the killer’s phone and computer in hopes of uncovering Thomas Crooks’ motive.

Retired FBI Special Surveillance Agent Scott Duffey told Fox News Digital that since the FBI announced it had effectively unlocked Crooks’ electronic devices, he must now download the contents of his virtual fingerprint.

“Given that it is a rural area, have you left this area? Have you ventured outdoors or contacted anyone?” Duffey said. They will be able to get to where he is. “

Duffey said the FBI’s functions are “second to none” and that the company will conduct searches of Crooks’ electronic devices.

“They’re going to investigate who he’s been in contact with, if any,” he said. “And if you’re not in contact with anyone, collect data on what you review, read, and research. “

Duffey said the FBI would investigate the extent of Crooks’ wisdom about bomb-making.

“How complex was it with those devices? So were they improvised devices that were in a position in working condition, or were they fabrics that, for some reason, were just meant to be thrown at dogs and so on,” he said .

“And they [the FBI] will need to know how long they’ve been doing this,” Duffey said. “The search that led to the final act of taking a gun from the top of a roof and then firing it into a crowd and, despite everything, at former US President Donald Trump. “

Duffey said federal agencies would also prioritize if Crooks left a final note before his attack at the former president’s rally.

“Did he leave a manifesto? Did he write? Did he keep a diary?” he said. “I’m just collecting evidence. “

Sarah Rumpf-Whitten of Fox News Digital contributed to this update.

It was not immediately apparent whether investigators discovered anything of evidentiary value at the shooting range, and members condemned the suspect and his movements as something their network is “not aware of. ” concerned”.

A lawyer for the Clairton Sportsmen’s Club had in the past alienated members from Crooks.

“Clearly, the Club completely condemns the senseless act of violence that occurred [Saturday],” attorney Rob Bootay said in a statement. “The Club also extends its deepest condolences to Comperatore’s circle of relatives and extends its prayers to all those injured,” the former president added.

The club is one of several in the domain whose members participate in shooting sports events and promote gun safety.

Law enforcement resources with knowledge of the scene told Fox News that Crooks fired an AR-15 5. 56 DPMS at Trump and bystanders. His father bought the gun in 2013.

He is at the FBI forensic lab in Quantico, Virginia, with his phone and at least one improvised explosive device in his car, resources say.

The United States Secret Service has stepped up its efforts to enforce local law after reports surfaced that the firm blamed police officials for Saturday’s fatal shooting at former President Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania.

In an article published Monday night in X, the USSS said it was “deeply grateful” for the “unwavering commitment and courage” shown through “police officials and local partners. “

The parents of the 20-year-old who unleashed a shooting spree opposed to former President Trump are licensed counselors through the Pennsylvania Board of Social Work.

The 20-year-old killers have active licenses, the service said.

Mary and Matthew’s licenses expire in February 2025 and they have been advisors since 2002, records show.

Thomas’ relatives’ home is now under an ongoing FBI investigation after Saturday’s shooting at a Trump rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania.

The motive for Crooks’ shooting is still unclear.

Records showed Crooks was registered as a Republican voter, but financial reports from the crusade also showed that he donated $15 to a progressive political action committee on Jan. 20, 2021, the day President Biden was sworn in.

The United States Secret Service has been criticized for allowing Thomas Matthew Crooks to take up position on a rooftop from which he shot former President Trump.

Several witnesses came forward in interviews and videos on social media, claiming to have noticed an armed man before the shooting began.

The scammers arrived on the rooftop with the DPMS AR-15 5. 56 rifle, which the government recovered from the scene. It had been bought legally through his father more than ten years ago, according to police sources.

Butler County Sheriff Michael Slupe said in media interviews that a county deputy confronted Crooks moments before the shooting, but hid to hide when he looked over the edge of the roof and the killer pointed his gun at him.

Minutes after Trump’s comments, a possible killer known as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on authorities.

He wounded the former president, killed a 50-year-old father of two and wounded two bystanders before a Secret Service countersniper neutralized the threat, the government said.

State police did not respond to a request for comment on the version of events provided by the source.
