The new right for freedom of expression Speak is entangled in … freedom of speech

Social media presents themselves as a bastion of “no censorship”, but they have always had the possibility to restrict to users what is legal and what is never widely allowed.

In recent weeks, Donald Trump has begun to review his tweets and post them with warnings when they involve misleading information. Katie Hopkins, the woguy who, by comparison, emigrated to the cockroaches and asked for a “definitive solution” for Muslims, was expelled from Twitter. And a sub-reddit called r/The_Donald was banned after Reddit’s contraditory his hate speech rules: Reddit said in a “squeaking laughter of other huguys with physical disabilities” and “describes a racial minority as sub huguy and inferior to racial majority “a larger friend is never allowed.

And so, of course, other Americans wonder where the hell he intended to travel to get his daily dose of “freedom of expression.”

Enter Talk, the supposedly independent free speech hot social media that suggests, once you sign up, stick to other Americans like Rand Paul, Hopkins and Rudy Giuliani. Other right-wing politicians such as Ted Cruz and Devin Nunes take part. The same goes for members of Trump’s circle of relatives, Eric and Lara, who are both overlooked, commentators such as Candace Owens and Donald Trump’s crusade manager, Brad Parscale.

A look at Talking might make you think that the form of plats is just a benign and more boring edition of Twitter. Megyn Kelly talks about telling you she doesn’t like Mary Trump’s new book; Eric Trump picks up on boring statements such as “Another wonderful day for the market position (amazing how quiet the media have been and left about this incredible acquisition”), reminding him why Don Jr is the most beloved brother; The Daily Caller is re-speaking A series of items that appear to belong to The Onion.

But since the platform’s selling point is that it provides a safe space for people who want to use hate speech, the ugliness is there if you want to find it: Hopkins is equating Black Lives Matter protests with “thuggery” and posting comments such as “Our white girls pay the price. Every time” in a post about illegal immigration in Scotland.

I suspect he’s never the real Mark Francois in Talking, I just joined me in laughing and following him. Just look at the absolute rain of foam that advised me to follow on the so-called impartial platform
