Public sector agencies can stay behind personal sector corporations in the digitalization of their functions, however, the New York construction department has transferred a pilot program to the policy to make security role.
The pilot program and the replacement that followed to make virtual file ownership an option for marketers in general resulted from several meetings with industry teams in 2024 to talk about how to modernize security compliance in site security, according to a DOB statement. The ministry declined a request for an interview.
The agency then launched a limited-scope pilot program on the feasibility of allowing on-site construction safety compliance documentation to be kept in a digital format on the tablets and laptops of contractors and site safety professionals. In December 2024, the department made the change official: All New York City construction sites now had the option to switch to digital when it came to on-site records.
Bilton, a corporate structure in Tel Aviv, the corporate PropTech operating in the United States, participated in the discussions and the pilot program, said Omer Slavin, its founder and CEO. In early January, DOB approved Bilton as a generation provider whose software can be used through general business owners.
“We assist general contractors with protection control, compliance control, and paint control on structure projects,” Slavin said. “Using our software, we make sure that who is meant to be on site is actually there, and we provide conditions where we’ve been able to decrease workplace claims, so it’s much more efficient. “
Biltton has delighted in the paintings with the Israeli government on such issues, so Slavin was not surprised through the difficulty and long -term for US agencies to be more technologically sophisticated.
“It was a two-year process,” Slavin said of the journey that began when he attended a DOB conference on innovation. “And, from experience, from working with government and city departments, those processes take time and education. They are looking to really see that the solutions are of integrity and the level of professionalism to manage the stuff that they could count on — the data, the security aspect and the privacy compliance laws.
“We had to teach Dob on answers and functions: what verifies when comparing those answers and what needs you want for those answers. “
Slavin said Bilton inspired the DOB with the results of its pilot program. “This allowed them for 40 minutes through inspection. This allowed our customers, general entrepreneurs, time and money, and increased security, yet also has greater power of DOB inspectors. “
The Dob also had the pilot’s results.
“The branch is proud of our collaborative paintings with the industry to a greater generation of strength at the site of tasks that is helping to expedite the progression procedure here in New York City,” said Dob spokesman Ryan Degan, Ryan Degan, In a statement. “By allowing virtual record -maintenance as a new option available, we are helping supervisors to remain in most of their project, comply with code regulations and announce protection. Some contractors, however, we perceive that many sites of tasks prefer a more fashionable virtual technique to maintain those vital protection records ».
The DOB is making new innovations, according to the agency. In November 2024, he issued an open call for structure volunteers, genuine property, labor, generation, architecture and engineering communities to a new innovation review committee at the branch, which will identify responses from Vanguard generation for the structure industry. He also intended to advise Dob on the steps to put those responses throughout the city. The branch recently prolonged the deadline for volunteers to request to participate in this initiative on February 8.
