Trump to return to Pennsylvania for first time since assassination attempt

Harrisburg Communications Director Matt Maisel told Fox News Digital on Friday that Trump has made “visits to the farm complex at events since his time as president” and that the city “has had no unrest every time he’s come here. “

He also said the Harrisburg Police Department would only transit in the vicinity of the rally and that security measures at the venue would be handled through the Secret Service, Pennsylvania State Police and Pennsylvania Capitol Police.

Former President Donald Trump, Republican presidential candidate, leads a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, on July 24, 2024 (Fox News – Paul Steinhauser).

“Of course, there were protests outside the complex, but there were no riots similar to that,” Maisel said.

US intelligence has remained tight-lipped about security measures for the event and could be tightened in light of this month’s assassination attempt.

“The defense and security of our protectees is the most sensible priority of the United States Secret Service. For the sake of operational security, secrecy does not speak to the means and strategies used for our cover operations. “
