July 2, 9 (UPI): The United States surpassed 150,000 similar COVID-1 deaths on Wednesday, while Florida recorded a record of one-day deaths at the time.
More than 1,400 patients died on Tuesday, on the eighth day of the last nine with no fewer than 1,000 deaths, according to the COVID Monitoring Project.
Ten states recorded the average number of deaths on Tuesday, adding california, Florida, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi and South Carolina.
The Florida Department of Health said 216 patients died Tuesday, surpassing the 186 series mark the day before. The state also recorded 9,400 new cases. Tuesday is also Florida’s first record above 200.
Florida’s Division of Emergency Management announced Wednesday that state-supported verification sites would be temporarily closed from Friday in anticipation of Tropical Cyclone 9.
“Testing sites are closing out of an abundance of caution to keep individuals operating and attending the sites safe,” the agency said. “All sites have free standing structures including tents and other equipment, which cannot withstand tropical storm force winds, and could cause damage to people and property if not secured.”
De Blasio advised New Yorkers to submit their records to vote in the presidential election and filed a lawsuit to extend the registration deadline to a later date in October or November.
“We make voting more undeniable than ever.”
In South Carolina, he said the state fair was replaced by a two-day driving car at the wheel.
“In the midst of the worst global crisis of our lives, we needed the net positive jobs to look ahead,” said Nancy Smith, executive director of the South Carolina State Fair.
