Reminder: City of Buckhannon trash collection was delayed one day this week
Upshur Parish House is proud to announce the official opening of its new satellite pantry in Rock Cave, West Virginia. This expansion marks a vital milestone in the organization’s project to provide food assistance and essential public services to neighbors in need. The new satellite Food Pantry will officially open on Wednesday, August 28 and will offer the citizens of southern Upshur County more nutritious food and essential resources. The facility is located on four Church Street, the site of the former Rock Cave United Methodist Church. It will be open from noon to four in the afternoon. on Wednesdays.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer our facility to Rock Cave,” said Isaac Casto, executive director of Upshur Parish House. “Our purpose has been to make sure our neighbors have access to what they deserve, and this new location is a key step in making that purpose a reality for more families. “»
Rock Cave’s satellite pantry will supply a variety of food items, adding new produce, dairy, canned goods and non-perishable items. In addition to food distribution, the pantry will offer application and rental assistance through Crosslines. Future plans include education and nutrition systems so families make healthier choices.
This expansion is made possible by the generous help of local donors, volunteers, and network partners. Upshur Parish House expresses its sincere gratitude to all who contributed to this effort, including former Rock Cave and United Way United Methodist Church members of Gilmer, Lewis and Upshur.
An open space with an inauguration rite will be held on Wednesday, August 21, from 2 p. m. to four p. m. The occasion will come with a network birthday party with refreshments and tours of the new facilities. All members of the network are invited to attend and be informed more about what is offered. Donations of non-perishable food items will be greatly appreciated.
