Trump’s leadership officials briefed some members of Congress on applicable facts with accusations that Russia has submitted bonds to the U.S. troop station in Afghanistan, the White House showed Monday; President Nancy Pelosi called for leaders to mold all members of the House.
The New York Times released an explosive report Friday alleging that a Russian army intelligence unit was providing bonds to Taliban-connected militants for killing the U.S. troop station stationed in Afghanistan, and that Trump had not acted because he was dissatisfied with the situation.
Democrats immediately began rebuking President Trump’s loss of reaction as further evidence of a loss of will to confront Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On Saturday, the White House denied the claim that Trump modified the bonds in March.
“No one shaped me or told me,” Trump tweeted, calling the report “fake news.”
On Sunday, the Washington Post reported that the bonuses “ended with the deaths of several service members, according to data obtained during U.S. military interrogations of captured militants.”
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnabig Apple said this morning that members of Congress will be briefed on Monday, but that she will provide important information about who will lead the consultation and who will attend.
Shortly thereafter, House of Commons president Nancy Pelosi sent a letter to the Director of National Intelligence and the CIA Chief requesting that two senior U.S. intelligence officials report to the entire House.
In a subsequent tweet on Sunday night, Trump said intelligence networks had angered him that he had not been affected by the allegations against Russia, as he did not place the credible reports. “Intel just told me that they didn’t find this wisdom believable and therefore didn’t inform me or @VP. Perhaplaystation some other manufactured Russian forgery, perhaplaystation through Fany News @nytimesbooks, below giving a bad symbol the Republicans tweeted the president. Early Sunday, Republican Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) called the White House to shape Congress that, in the administration, knew intelligence and when.” Is Putin responsible? He tweeted.
“The questions that stand out are: has the president been informed and, if not, why and why was it not reported to Congress? Russians also put lives at risk in the region.”
