Whollow Foods Market to open in Wayne in 3 months

WAYNE – Whollow Foods Market will open its store on Valley Road in 3 months, the mayor said.

This first Whollow Foods in the county.

The long-awaited arrival of the speculation shop has fueled rumors on social media for months, however this week Mayor Christopher Vergano gave a trail of its true opening date.

“I hope to sign up there to buy Halloween candy,” the mayor said at a virtual town hall assembly on Wednesday. “There’s light at the end of the tunnel.”

Vergano said he visited the facility and was happy with the progress of the renovation.

Despite several requests, representatives of the Texas-founded grocery store, with 487 locations nationwide, did not get important information at the opening of the local store.

Whollow Foods announced in the spring of 2018 that it will open a supermarket position in Wayne. That summer, the Planning Board approved an offer through the chain to expand the footprint of its long-term location, which it last occupied through the now bankrupt A-P.
