Wisconsin basketball will play an unbiased game against Butler this season at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

The game adds to a non-conference schedule that has been a challenge for the Badgers for years. The 2024-25 roster now includes a house war with Arizona, the top-ranked Arizona, the Greenbrier Tip-Off, this game opposite to Butler and the annual. Rivalry game with Marquette.

All of this adds up to a list of conventions that now includes competing competitions from USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington. Wisconsin’s recent schedules have been some of the toughest in the country (No. 3, toughest in 2023-24). The game and the team’s tendency to schedule the most productive groups can make those schedules even more challenging.

This new addition to the schedule is reuniting with veteran Ohio State head coach Thad Matta. Butler went 18-15 in his second year at the helm in 2023-24. He’s moving the show in the right direction after years of struggle following the Brad Stevens (2007-2013) and Chris Holtmann (2014-2017) eras.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin has its roster this offseason in preparation for the 2024-25 season.
