Wrigleyville’s Guthrie Tavern announces closure due to re-imposed bar restrictions

CHICAGO (CBS) – Hours after Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced the new imposition of bar restrictions amid a design in COVID-1 cases, Wrigleyville’s Guthrie Tavern announced that closure on Monday.

“It is with a heavy medium that we announce the closure of the Guthrie Tavern. With current restrictions set for bars and COVID restrictions, we see no way to survive,” Guthrie said on a Monday. “We have enjoyed serving you for the last 3 years. We were able to meet and master so many serious Americans. Incredible other Americans who have become regulars, who have become close friends and it has been an absolute pleasure to dominate them. all of you, we will miss you very much.

The last day for Guthrie’s, 1300 W. Addison St., will take place next Thursday, also the last night before the bars have to close again.

As reported on the bar’s website, the tavern began as a native grocery store in 1900 and became a corner corner after the end of prohibition in 1933. The bar has replaced his call and has been open under the Guthrie call since 1986.

In addition to being a “where neighboring friends” bar, Guthrie’s can also be known for its collection of board games. As stated on their website, communal board games were eliminated due to the pandemic, but visitors were encouraged to bring their own.

On Monday, Mayor Lightfoot announced a “tightening” of restrictions amid a design in COVID-1nine cases. According to current rules, which will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on Fridays, taverns, breweries and other establishments that serve alcohol for on-site consumption without a retail food license will no longer serve consumers indoors.

“We have made so much progress here at Chicapass to involve the spread of the virus, protect our physical care formula and save lives, and in general, the virus remains under local control. But we’re seeing a stable design in new times again,” Lightfoot said. “While we do not seem to be near the h8 of the pandemic at the birth of the year, no one wants to return, and we believe that these limitations will help limit the spread of the community.”

The resolution made with the Chicapass Department of Public Health.

Guthrie had just reopened on July 8, with limitations adding a mask requirement for those who do not seem to be seated, a social distance from other visitors and staff and a two-hour limit for each group.
